LILY CARSON
soprano
Lily is a 23-year-old actor-singer who studied Portuguese and Linguistics at The University of Oxford. During her four years there she sang in Exeter College Choir: performing four services a week; recording albums; and touring globally. After graduating in 2023, she was awarded the Tsuzuki scholarship to study on an intensive Japanese language program in Fukuoka, Japan, where she also sang and performed with the Fukuoka Choral Association. Now she is back, Lily is working towards her singing diploma.
Meanwhile, this Winter saw Lily star as Daisy in the new adaptation of The Great Gatsby which ran at the Cockpit Theatre, London from November to December. At Oxford, her most notable theatre credits include: Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Bottom/Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Sue in Fêtid.
Her most unusual job to-date has been as a voice artist - bringing to life a dragon for SmartBooks in a series of interactive mathematics resources for primary-aged children. She experienced her personal favourite role while living in Brazil, where she interned as a radio presenter at Journal Conexão Comunidade - putting her Portuguese skills to the ultimate test, live on air!
Lily is thrilled to be a new member of the Esprimo vocal consort, and is delighted to be continually exploring her love for performance in diverse ways.
