Who we are
Esprimo Choral Foundation is an organisation rooted in high-level ensemble performance and a commitment to developing the next generation of musicians. Bringing together experienced adult singers, emerging professionals, and young people still in education, the Foundation creates ambitious musical projects in which artistic excellence and learning sit side by side.
Ensembles
At the centre of the Foundation's artistic life is Esprimo Consort, the flagship ensemble of the organisation. Drawn from the wider Esprimo membership, the Consort brings together a select group of singers to perform repertoire that demands particular flexibility, stylistic awareness and musical independence at a professional level. The Consort's work spans intimate early music, staple choral repertoire, and contemporary projects, often in collaboration with professional partners.
Alongside the Consort sits Esprimo | Voices, the organisation's founding chamber choir, which plays a vital role in the Foundation's artistic and developmental work. Esprimo Voices brings together experienced singers in a collaborative environment that supports musical growth, ensemble craft, and thoughtful programming. It serves as a pathway into the Consort for singers within the organisation.
Education
Running in parallel with the ensembles is Esprimo's educational work. Formed on and driven by a belief that opportunities to sing at a high level should be open to all students and young adults, Esprimo seeks to nurture and continue its founding principles. Through side-by-side projects, mentorship, and participation in large-scale works, young people rehearse and perform alongside our musicians and professional collaborators, gaining confidence, skills, and insight into high quality music-making.
